Milestone Alert - Site Visits Now Complete

New Achievement Unlocked!

REVERSE is an ambitious project to combat health-acquired infections.

Twenty-four hospitals across Greece, Italy, Romania, and Spain are participating in REVERSE, all working to implement infection prevention and control and antibiotic stewardship practices.

The Work Package 5 team, led by Prof. Dr. Lauren Clack, visited a selection of REVERSE hospitals twice to understand IPC and ABS within participating hospitals better and to learn about local conditions for participating in REVERSE.

After three years of committed effort, we are pleased to announce that all site visits are complete!

The hard work, generosity, patience, and wealth of information shared by each country host ensured that these visits were successful and generated essential insights.

Partnerships and contextual understanding

The IPC and ABS site visits are crucial to the success of REVERSE.

Meeting, engaging, and interviewing hospital staff, local implementation teams, and investigators who facilitate REVERSE activities in their hospitals is critical to learning how REVERSE hospitals approach IPC and ABS. This, again, is integral to supporting hospitals in their IPC and ABS implementation efforts.

Work Package 5, well-supported by colleagues from the University of Geneva (Work Package 3 - IPC) and the University of Verona (Work Package 4 - ABS), will use this learning actively in the ongoing collaboration will all REVERSE hospitals.

Thank you to all partners

Since the project began, all sites have been working extremely hard – their extensive planning and commitment have been vital to the success of the visits, and we would like to express our gratitude to everyone involved.

“I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the individuals and hospitals who graciously hosted the REVERSE WP5 team during our site visits. Your generosity and support provided us with invaluable insights and learning opportunities. The welcoming and collaborative spirit we encountered has greatly enriched our research and fortified our commitment to learning how European hospitals are able to implement measures to combat antibiotic resistance. All the laughs and good food we could enjoy with you along the way only enriched the experience. Thank you for being such pivotal partners in our journey!”

-                Prof. Lauren Clack, University of Zurich.
